DUTIES INCLUDE:
– Running of application equipment for dry and liquid fertilizer
– Maintaining equipment – taking pride in the equipment and keeping it maintained daily.
– Utilizing equipment technology – viper-pro/viper4
– Off season opportunities could include helping with annual equipment inspections and maintenance in addition to advanced skills training. PCE is willing to look at applicants strengths and build upon.

REQUIREMENTS:
– Must have a valid CDL driver license or a CDL Permit.
– Must have a clean driving record.
– Must have strong communication skills.
– PCE is willing to train qualified applicants.

DUTIES INCLUDE:
– Assisting the PCE team in delivering agronomy products from our facilities to the farm and fields.

REQUIREMENTS:

Position Overview:

To handle and manage grain stocks in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service. The Grain Superintendent Assistant’s responsibilities involve grain operations, safety and maintenance, and other duties as assigned by management.  Excellent organizational skills, proficiency in multi‐tasking, and the ability to resolve complex problems are essential in this role. This position is ideal for someone that works extremely well individually and in a team setting.

Duties include:

Operations

Operation involves assisting in the efficient operation of the grain department including:

  • Strong grain knowledge including grading of grain for foreign material, bugs, musty, etc.
  • Know and understand the grain system – most efficient use of bins, fans, etc.
  • Safety – understand and follow all safety requirements, including but not limited to: Lock Out Tag Out, Confined Space Bin Entry, Ladder Safety, Electrical Safety, Grain Sweep Policy, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment on a regular schedule to avoid breakdowns and anticipate and plan for major overhauls requiring shut-downs
  • Maintain quality of grains above standards – sound record keeping including but not limited to:  aeration, temperature, accurate inventories, etc.
  • Receive grain inventory, maintain grain quality in storage, and keep it saleable
  • Communicate inventories, potential customer leads and or customer requests.
  • Flexible in helping other departments – to ensure our customers receive the best service possible.

Grain Customer Service

Service involves providing customer service that will result in greater business relationships.

  • Greet customers promptly and courteously with a friendly smile and a hello, and thank them for their business.   Assist customers with unloading and loading.
  • Work with customers to resolve problems and report complaints to your supervisor

Basic Qualifications:

  • Have a working knowledge of grain systems, grain handling, and grain management.
  • Helpful to have a CDL, Class A preferably. Along with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure grain equipment is working properly.  Must be good at troubleshooting to determine causes of operating errors and deciding how to handle them.
  • Must exercise good judgment and decision making.  Needs to be able to work independently to manage one’s own time and the time of others.
  • Excellent organizational skills, communications skills, the ability to multi‐task, and most importantly, the ability to work well in a team.
