A Passion for Horses

Cori, Office Manager at our Warren Coop location, grew up on a horse farm in the local rural area. As a kid, she & her mom would breed mares each year, and Cori loved helping raise the colts. She would often find herself at her grandpa’s cow/calf operation where she would help with cattle implants, castration, and vaccinations. From all her experiences growing up, Cori always knew that she wanted a career in agriculture.

Horse Judging

At the age of 14, Cori began her involvement in horse judging. Throughout her adult life, it’s a passion that she held onto. She started judging in 4-H where her coach, Paul Rogers, took Cori under his wing. During this time, Paul taught Cori the ropes of horse judging and showed her how to give a strong set of reasons confidently. This base of knowledge allowed Cori to build her career in horse judging. After high school, she accepted a full-ride scholarship to Blackhawk College to participate on their horse judging team. Through her time there, she grew her knowledge and confidence and was eventually introduced to the horse judging coach at West Texas A&M, Dr. John Pipkin. Later, she transferred there on a partial scholarship to again participate in collegiate horse judging. Currently, Cori is an official open & youth horse judge, and judges throughout the Midwest. This past year, she learned how to judge horses virtually and hopes to get back out into the showring soon.

Life Passions & A Helpful Attitude

Aside from horse judging, Cori has a handful of other life passions. First, she loves being a mom to her daughter. It’s very important to Cori to set a good example for her daughter & help shape her into a strong young woman. Additionally, Cori has a passion for helping others. If any of our customers have ever visited her at the Warren Coop, they can probably attest to that!

Advice for Women in Agriculture

Overall, Cori is known for her passionate attitude, kind nature, and witty humor. Her biggest pet peeve is when individuals are not confident in their own abilities. Additionally, she encourages young women in agriculture to just go for it! Cori hopes they can be confident in their abilities and continuously work to build themselves up. Throughout life, the most important lessons she has learned is to aim high, be kind, be confident, be courageous, and to have faith.

The PCE Community would like to thank Cori for all her hard work and for being such a positive and strong role model for young women in agriculture. You are appreciated!
